HLR (Home Location Register) is an extent base including different kinds of information about every working telephone number in GSM. These kind of information include: current network to which a number is assigned (and in case of transferred number – old network name), or an current number of GSM network activity. Thanks to that HLR lookup is a service which enables to eliminate nonexistent telephone numbers from a current database, or to get rid of complication concerned with sending SMS to transferred numbers.
HLR lookup service offered by HQSMS is available only through API interface and has properties as follows:

• global coverage,
• low costs,
• returned information about a number:
  • network name, MCC and MNC of a network to which a number assigned;
  • network name, MCC and MNC of a network from which the number has been transferred;
  • number status in GSM network (unknown subscriber, absent);
